Beyond the Trends: Parenting with Confidence

Join us for a two-hour presentation aimed at parents of young children, from toddler age up to 12 years of age. On Bowen, as everywhere, parents are seeking insight into how they can best steer their children through todays world through consistent and supportive parenting practices. They may already be frustrated by mixed messages, conflicting advice and other parenting trends that are not working for them.

In this session, Dr. Vanessa Lapointe, a mom, parenting educator and psychologist, will shine a bright light on the real essence of leadership when it comes to child raising. Dr. Lapointe understands that discussions around boundaries can be sensitive. In this session, the best-selling author and parent advocate will help parents and caregivers better understand how and why to implement them, and outline steps to take to ensure they work. Shell focus on the need for establishing clear definitions of adults roles, along with developing mutual respect, and ultimately nurturing mentally healthy and strong children. The evening will include time for Q&A.

About the presenter:
Dr. Vanessa Lapointe is a mom, parenting educator, best-selling author, international speaker, and a regularly invited media guest. She holds a doctoral degree in psychology, and practiced as a psychologist for nearly 20 years, before devoting her full-time energy to connecting with parents and other big people around the globe in 2023. Founder of The North Star Developmental Clinic, Dr. Vanessa has long been supporting families and children in her developmental clinic alongside her team, and has previous experience in community mental health and the school system. Dr. Vanessa is known for bringing a sense of nurturing understanding and humanity to all of her work. Her passion is in walking alongside parents, teachers, care providers, and other big people to really see the world through the childs eyes. She believes that if we can do this, we are beautifully positioned to raise our children in the best possible way.
